
In LoM, you will basically create the world you play in via the Land Make system where you use powerful artifacts to bring back parts of the world on a large grid where their placement will influence lots of things like certain events, power of certain elemental spells and the general difficulty of the world.

LoM took the generally linear gameplay that the Mana series had thus far, and completely turned it on its head, giving near complete control to the player and how they tackle what the game has to offer. It is the fourth entry in the Mana series that the beloved SNES game Secret of Mana is a part of as well, but for me Legend of Mana was the first exposure to the series. It was a game that a lot of people felt very strongly in their like or dislike for the title, but over the years it has seemed the reception has turned to generally positive in retrospect. This is an interesting one for sure, Legend Of Mana had its North American release June 6th 2000 on the Playstation.

MonsterVine was supplied with a Nintendo Switch code for review Cleaned up visuals and music are always a plus, but it does little to address some of the biggest issues the game had to begin with, unlike its predecessor. The gameplay and partner AI of the old Mana games usually pisses me off halfway through, at least this game isn't frustrating.Legend of Mana Remastered is the latest PS1 RPG to get a very thorough remastering, and it has a lot of people rooting for this to be another good one. But its no use against these ridiculously easy enemies. There is a good battle system in here with quite some moves, abilities and the possibility to string it without ending your combo. This is clearly only useful for No Future mode. I one shot every single boss encounter with my super moves. This makes an already easy game just ridiculous. I also dabbled a bit with the crafting, created a 2h sword with 3x Cleric cards, carrying damage over 200. Pretty sure I missed Norn Peaks and the White Forest earlier. This is a Kawazu game so yeah, without guide you won't even see some locations at all. I even missed some areas, some were brand new to me. And the funny thing is, I missed quite a bit of it on PS1. But the Jumi storyline is perhaps the best storyline in the Mana franchise. Like all Gilbert quests, and Niccolo, and the ones with the Cactus.

I liked it though, but you can dismiss a fair bit of quests where are really shitty and just send you accross the world for reasons. I beat the game, and a lot of mechanics are indeed silly by todays standards. there’s an accessory that makes you split XP with party members, but then you end up giving 1/3 or 1/2 of your XP to your golem (which can’t even fucking gain XP) or your pet (which can gain XP but it’s disadvantageous to do so). You want to have them grazing and revisit the stable after every level to feed them. So you DONT want them to get XP while in your party. pets only gain stats (aside from HP) if they gain a level by grazing and eating food (which you have to refill after every level). golems don’t gain XP or levels, but they can still pick up XP crystals and thus deprive your other party members of XP So if you want your NPC/pet to level up, you have to hope they randomly wander into some crystals before they disappear.

XP only goes to the one who picked it up. you don’t just gain XP from battles like in any normal-ass JRPG, instead you have to pick up XP crystals I still love this game but man does it have some weird ass gameplay mechanics. Legend of mana remaster includes several updated to the original game, including remastered soundtrack, gallery and music mode, switch off enemy encounters and autosave. The game includes "Ring Ring Land", a mini game never before released in the West. Other features have also been added, including the ability to turn off enemy encounters. Not only has the music been rearranged for this remaster, you can also alternate between the new and original soundtrack.
